Your business isn't standard. Your software shouldn't be.
Royalty agreements, broker networks, retailer EDI, a 3PL that bills its own way, an accountant who wants reports just so. We build those pieces on the Optimus Nine platform, so they share the same data, login and permissions as everything else.
Six ways teams make Optimus Nine their own
Royalties & broker commissions
Glean turns order exports into royalty reports and broker commission statements, with rates, periods and date rules per agreement, an audit log and a sales forecast.
Retail EDI
A direct AS2 connection to retailers such as Sam's Club: purchase orders in, ship notices and invoices out, no per-document middleman fees.
Accounting & 3PL reconciliation
Match 3PL invoices to the orders that caused them, push summaries to your accounting system, and hand your accountant a clean month-end packet.
Data connectors
Secure, read-only connectors answer questions from your live numbers, with sources, and power automations you approve.
Custom reports & dashboards
Board packs, investor updates, retailer scorecards and team KPIs, built once and refreshed automatically.
Data migration
Move from spreadsheets, MRPeasy or legacy tools with history intact, validated line by line before you switch.
Discover, blueprint, build, run
Discover
A working session on how money, stock and data move through your business today.
Blueprint
A written plan with screens, data flows, a fixed price and a date. You approve before we build.
Build
Weekly demos on your real data. Nothing is a surprise at handover.
Run
It ships inside Optimus Nine with the same login and roles, and we keep it running.
Royalty statements you can defend line by line
Upload an order export and Glean applies each agreement's rate, period and date basis, excludes what the contract excludes, and totals units, revenue and royalties to pay. Every number traces back to the orders behind it.
- Rates and rules per licensor or broker
- Audit log and version history
- Statements and forecasts from one dataset
Custom work that doesn't become another silo
Everything we build lives behind the same sign-in, appears in the same home dashboard and respects the same roles as the core modules. Your team learns one tool, not five.

The spreadsheet signal
Every growing brand has a spreadsheet nobody else understands. It calculates a licensor's royalty, reconciles a 3PL invoice, or turns a retailer's purchase order into a pick list. It works until the person who built it goes on holiday, or until volume doubles and it takes a full day to run.
That spreadsheet is a signal. It marks a process important enough to repeat every month and specific enough that no off-the-shelf tool covers it. Those are exactly the processes worth building properly.
Build, buy or extend
Before building anything, ask three questions. Does a product already do this well for businesses like yours? Will you run this process for years, not months? Does it need your data from other systems to be right? If the answer is no, yes, yes, extending the platform you already run is usually the fastest and cheapest path.
| Option | Best when | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|
| Buy a point tool | The process is standard | Another login and data silo |
| Build from scratch | Nothing close exists | Cost, time and upkeep |
| Extend Optimus Nine | It needs your channel, stock or ad data | Scope creep: write the blueprint first |
What a good build includes
- A written blueprint with screens, data sources, a fixed price and a date.
- Real data from week one, so edge cases surface early.
- Permissions from the start: who can see it, who can change it, and what's view-only.
- An audit trail for anything that touches money.
- A run plan: who watches it, how it's monitored, and how it's updated.
We built Optimus Nine to run our own brand first. The best features began as the spreadsheets we were tired of.Premium Gold Flax
Keep it one platform
The hidden cost of custom software is fragmentation: separate logins, separate data, separate places to look. Building inside Optimus Nine avoids that. A royalty module reads the same orders as the Sales Console. An EDI connection drops retailer orders into the same inventory plan. A data connector can answer questions across all of it.
What it costs
Custom work is quoted as a fixed price from the blueprint, typically starting at a few thousand dollars for an integration and rising with scope. Hosting and upkeep are covered by your Optimus Nine plan. See services pricing for starting points.
Checklist
- The process repeats every month and matters to cash or customers
- You can name the data it needs and where it lives
- You know who owns it once it's built
- You have a blueprint with a price and a date
Custom work, answered
Who owns what you build?
Your data is always yours. Custom modules run on the Optimus Nine platform under your plan; ownership terms for bespoke code are set in the blueprint.
How long does a build take?
Integrations typically take two to six weeks. Larger modules are phased so something useful ships every few weeks.
Can you connect our accounting system?
Yes. We connect accounting, 3PL, EDI and marketplace systems, and reconcile them against Optimus Nine's own records.
Do you offer ongoing services?
Yes: managed retail media, a fractional operations analyst and monthly reporting. See services.
